My life at Bühler

“Meeting customer requirements and having responsibility for the project execution of various business units means I have different tasks every day.”

I started at Bühler twelve years ago as a Design Engineer. I was then promoted several times to Project Manager, Team Leader, Engineering Manager and now to Director of Project Execution. Having held these various previous positions within Bühler helps me in my current role to execute our projects with the highest quality standards.

Why did you join Bühler?

I studied grain engineering at university. I then worked in a flour mill as a production manager and project manager of a new flour mill project. This means that I come from a milling and food processing background. Bühler was a great choice, as it gave me the opportunity to deepen my engineering and project management skills and also to apply industry-related know-how gained from my previous work experience. The career prospects of other companies were not comparable with those here at Bühler.

What responsibilities do you have in your job?

I lead the team which installs mills and plants across Southeast Asia, Pakistan, Africa and China. I am responsible for the projects being executed correctly and products as well as installation meeting our customer’s needs. We are growing fast. I therefore also develop engineering courses to train our teams. It is critical to integrate new team members quickly and to ensure that the team works well together. I work with a wide range of business units, from milling, rice, bakery, brewery, noodle, coffee, nutrition food and chocolate – it is a very varied job. I really enjoy the flexibility my job offers.

What excites you about Bühler and its opportunities?

I like reading books and studying, so Bühler’s culture of life-long learning is just the thing for me. I have attended many courses so far and, for example, improved my communication and presentation skills. People here are very driven and just as excited to learn new things as I am – it is great to connect with like-minded colleagues. I also enjoy that I can apply newly acquired skills in my day-to-day work and become a better leader.
