Marco Gadola studied Business Administration and Economics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, receiving a Master’s degree in 1987. He has completed various development programs at the London School of Economics, INSEAD Fontainebleau, and IMD in Lausanne.
He started his career in 1988 in the corporate finance department at the United Bank of Switzerland, and later worked at Novartis International Ltd., Basel, as Audit Manager. From 1992, he spent nine years at Hilti Group in senior commercial, sales, and finance positions working in Liechtenstein, the United States, Spain, and Germany. After five years as CFO and Member of the Executive Board at Hero Group, Lenzburg, Switzerland, he joined Straumann Group, Basel, as CFO and Executive VP Operations. In 2008, Marco Gadola was appointed CFO and Member of the Executive Board at Panalpina Group, Basel. He rejoined Straumann Group in 2013 as CEO until 2019.
Marco Gadola serves as President of the Board of Directors of DKSH, President of the Board of Directors of WS Audiology and Medartis Holding AG, Vice President of the Board of Directors of MCH Group AG, Member of the Board of Directors of Straumann Group, and holds other mandates at various associations in Switzerland.
Marco Gadola was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of Bühler in 2023. He was born in 1963 and is Swiss and French.
